Election of Parochial Officials


The Constables and Douzaine hereby give notice that the election of the under-mentioned parochial officials will take place on Wednesday, 4th November 2009 at Les Cotils Christian Centre (Harry Bound Room) at the conclusion of the meeting convened by the Rector and Churchwardens which commences at 7.30pm. The meeting is convened pursuant to Article 55 of The Reform (Guernsey) Law, 1948, as amended, the Public Assistance (Amendment) Law 2006 and the Education (Schools Committees) Ordinance, 1970. The terms of office of all retiring officers will expire on the 31st December 2009.

All (unless indicated otherwise) are eligible for re-election. Those marked with * do not seek re-election.

Nominations are invited.

Nomination forms for the purpose are available in the respective parishes from the persons/places named below. Completed forms must be returned thereto no later than 4.00 p.m. on Monday 26th October 2009.

Sunday Trading Licence Renewals


Businesses in the Parish of St. Peter Port who wish to trade on Sundays in 2010 are reminded to complete and return their annual application forms to the Constables’ Office, Lefebvre Street, St. Peter Port no later than 1st November 2009.

Congratulations to Floral Committee


Big congratulations to The St Peter Port Floral Committee who scooped a tremendous 2nd at the presentation ceremony at Beau Sejour on the evening of 11th July and received the Silver Gilt Award in the Parish Floral Competition with judging taking place week beginning the 6th July.
 
The award is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates the hard work, dedication and commitment put in by all of the Committee over the past 12 months under the leadership of Douzenier Katina Jones.
 
Of course one must not forget the parishioners, businesses, Constables, Town Centre Partnership, Helen Litchfield & PSD who contributed to this award by transforming our town into an amazing beautiful floral extravaganza………………..

A BIG thank you for your time, donations, support and effort.

Proposed Relocation of Parochial Accommodation


As a result of the Parish Meeting held in the theatre at Beau Sejour Centre on Monday, 29th June 2009, the electors and ratepayers of St. Peter Port rejected the proposal to relocate the Constables’ Office to Les Cotils in favour of the refurbishment of the Lefebvre Street premises.







New Parish Building Beau Sejour Meeting


The Electors and Ratepayers of the Town and Parish of Saint Peter Port are invited by the Constables and Douzaine to meet at Beau Sejour Theatre on Monday, 29th June 2009 at 7.30pm to decide whether they are in favour of approving the scheme for the construction of a new Parish building at Les Côtils, Saint Peter Port, in respect of which scheme the Electors and Ratepayers voted funds at their meeting at the Dorey Room on 14th May 2009.

Parish Meeting

The Electors and Ratepayers of the Town and Parish of St. Peter Port are invited by the Constables and Douzaine to meet at the Dorey Room, St James Concert & Assembly Hall on Thursday 14th May 2009 at the conclusion of the meeting convened by the Rector and Churchwardens which commences at 7.30 p.m. to transact the following business:

To authorise the Constables and Douzaine to take all measures necessary to proceed with the proposed new parochial building at Les Côtils to be funded by (a) the sale of the existing Constables’ Office premises in Lefebvre Street and (b) a five year levy on Owner’s Rate.

To decide whether they are in favour of voting the following amounts to be levied by means of Owner’s Rate for the current year.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING


The Electors and Ratepayers of the Town and Parish of St. Peter Port are invited by the Constables and Douzaine to meet at Beau Sejour Centre (Cambridge & Delancey Suites on the first floor) on Thursday, 30th April 2009 at 7.30 p.m. for a presentation of the preferred option recommended by the Working Party appointed in that behalf and accepted by the Constables and Douzaine relating to the construction of new parish offices at Les Côtils on land to be leased by Les Côtils Limited to the Constables of St. Peter Port.

Plans and outline information are available for inspection beforehand at the Constables’ Office during normal office hours.
