Due to the Covid-19 virus, for the last two weeks the Constables of St. Peter Port placed a ban on holding all their Douzaine and Douzaine Committee meetings indefinitely. This ban will include the parish meeting due to be held in April, at which a discussion is held to approve the Remede. This has to be approved by the Parishioners in order that the parish rates can be collected. This will be suspended until such time as it is safe to hold public meetings or another method of Remede approval is forthcoming in law. Until further notice and in the interests of public safety, with immediate effect, the Constables Office will be closed to the public. The staff will be working as usual to handle telephone queries and give verbal help to Parishioners where possible.
