At a Parish meeting held on Wednesday 4th November the election of Parish Officials was deferred to a secret ballot to be held on Wednesday the 18th November 2020. Positions for Constable, five Douzeniers and a Committee member each for Amherst & Vauvert and Baubigny schools will be contested.

The Combined National Armistice Day Service is due to be held on Wednesday 11th November starting at 10.50am at the Fort George war memorial. The initiative follows several years of informal services held on Armistice Day, organised by St Peter Port Senior Constable Dennis Le Moignan, in cooperation with the Honorary German Consul. All are cordially invited to attend this service. Please bear in mind that parking is severely limited.

There will be a St Peter Port parish drop-in held in the Constables Office, Lefebvre Street between 10:00am and 12.00 noon on Saturday 14th November when there will be an opportunity to meet the candidates standing in the forthcoming Parish elections. An additional Douzenier will be available to address questions or concerns about parish issues if required. We look forward to seeing you at the drop in session.

“A memorial ceremony was held on 13th October to remember Major General Sir Isaac Brock, a Guernseyman who was killed 208 years ago whilst leading his troops on Queenston Heights, Ontario, Canada, against the invading American Army. A wreath was raised on the Boot’s building where he spent his childhood, by the Bailiff Mr R McMahon, to commemorate that occasion.”
