Twinning of St Peter Port with Masnieres

Wed 27 Nov 2019

The final commemorative event in memory of the sacrifice of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry (RGLI) takes place on Saturday 30th November. The Royal Guernsey Light Infantry took part in the Cambrai offensive, which began on the 20th November 1917. The final commemorative event will see the rededication of the RGLI memorial plaque in the Town Church and the formal Twinning with the town of Masnieres.

Members of the public will be able to attend the following on Saturday 30th November:

9.30am - Parade assembling at the Sunken Garden

10.00am - Wreath Laying and service at the RGLI memorial followed by a parade to the Town Church

10.40am - Service of Commemoration and Rededication of the RGLI memorial plaque in the Town Church

11.45am - Unveiling of the Twinning sign at the Weighbridge St Peter Port
