The annual memorial and wreath laying service for the RGLI, that takes place at the same time in Guernsey and in Masnieres.
The short service will be conducted by the Dean of Guernsey, The Very Reverend Tim Barker. There will follow the memorial laying of wreaths on behalf of the people of Guernsey led by His Excellency The Lt Governor, Deputy Bailiff, President Education Sport and Culture, The Constables & Douzaine of St Peter Port, RGLI Trust, RBL and Veteran's Associations, together with the people of France. This will include the playing of the Last Post and a two minute silence in remembrance of those who gave their lives.
All are welcome to attend. Those wishing to do so should gather by 11:45am.
The royal Guernsey Light Infantry Charitable Trust is a registered Guernsey charity. With public support the Trust aims to commemorate the role of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry during the Great War of 1914 - 1918. The Trust remembers the sacrifice that was made by the men of the island, their families and next of kin. It continues to be dedicated to realising this through the creation of memorial and cultural events.
